This is a brilliant pattern from the 1970s, which I found in my mum’s collection. I think it looks a lot more complicated than it actually is. The way the yarn is pulled over in certain places, pulls the yarn upwards to create a sort of scallop effect with the colours. In actual fact, the two colours are knitted in straight lines.

This is the first time I picked up stitches to create a neckband. It’s not the neatest/flattest neckband in the world, but It’s not bad for a first try. I’m delighted with the finished result, especially since I’d been knitting for less than a year at this point.
