Like any knitter, I have acquired a lot of left over yarn from various projects. I wanted to make a cushion cover to try and use some of it up, so I did some searching online and found the pattern that looks like bricks (below). This was originally going to be the front of the cushion. I thought I’d make up the other side myself. I have a book that my mum got me called ‘Knit Step by Step’. It’s brilliant, but you still can’t beat ringing mum up for any questions! In the back of the book there are lots of different patterns that you can use in your own designs. I chose the one above, and I liked it so much that I decided to turn it into the front of the cushion. I’d already knitted a cushion cover with a flap and button holes a few years before this, and so I used that same technique for this one. I thought I’d used a lot of yarn for this cover, but it hardly made a dent in my left overs stash. I’ll have to think of some other things to knit to use some more of it up.
