My friend’s sister had a baby in December 2015, and I fancied making a wee cardigan for her. My mum has loads of baby and children’s knitting patterns, so I was spoilt for choice when I started looking through them. I picked this gorgeous little girl’s one out. My mum knitted this for my sister when she was a baby. In the original pattern there is a string of yarn through the top of the rib, which you tie in a bow at the front, but I decided to leave this out.
When I was knitting this, I really liked that the button border is part of the main body. It was easy to knit, and looks really neat. The pattern was quite easy to memorise, and in general it was a great little pattern to knit. Baby clothes are so good to knit, as you can finish them in no time at all. If only I could knit a cardigan for myself so quickly! I really enjoyed knitting this, and would definitely knit it again.
