This jumper was great to knit. It grew so quickly with the chunky yarn and thick needles. I found it quite an easy pattern to knit but it looks quite intricate. It’s another pattern I borrowed from my mum. It is a vintage 1980s pattern but my mum only picked it up quite recently. I was looking for a nice winter knit and the pattern jumped out at me as soon as I saw it.
I got the yarn in the local wool shop in Clitheroe when I was down for a visit. It isn’t expensive yarn but it’s very soft which is great as some winter knits can be itchy.
When I was sewing up the side seams I was quite tired and forgot to match the stripe and dots! When I turned it the right way it was nowhere near matching as I’d just pinned it without pattern matching. I had to unpick it, pin it making sure the pattern matched, and then sew it up again. Don’t sew things up when you’re too tired! In fact, don’t knit at all when you’re too tired. You make mistakes that take a lot of time to fix.
I’m absolutely delighted with how this jumper has turned out. I’ve had so many lovely comments too. I’d definitely knit it again.
